Nathan Wilson

AFNHA Community Outreach Coordinator

Nathan Wilson is a flutist, conductor, and educator based in Keyser, WV. A student of Nina Assimakopoulos, he studied at West Virginia University and is pursuing a Master’s at the University of Georgia. Nathan performs with local ensembles and is passionate about flute pedagogy, performance, and music education.

Nathan Wilson is the band/choir director at Keyser High School in Keyser, West Virginia. He is an alumnus of West Virginia University where he was a member of the Flute Studio and studied under Professor Nina Assimakopolous. While at WVU, he earned First Prize in the Great Composers Competition The Art of Winds & Percussion in 2020. He is passionate about music and music education, and whenever he has the time, Nathan enjoys conducting, arranging, writing, and playing music. He currently holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from WVU and is in the midst of his Master’s of Music Education at the University of Georgia. He is also a member of the Potomac State Community Concert Band and the Allegany Community Orchestra.
