Festival Themes
The International Festival of Flutes | People | Place | Culture is a vibrant, one-of-a-kind celebration of global flute traditions—Western classical, Native American, Appalachian, Celtic, and rare flutes from Asia, South America, East India, and Eastern Europe.
The festival preserves, celebrates, and raises awareness of diverse flute and instrument-making traditions, building bridges across cultures and generations. We are deeply committed to accessibility, offering scholarships and creating an inclusive space where all can learn, share, and inspire—fostering lasting connections beyond the stage.
At the International Festival of Flutes, you can "choose your own adventure." With workshops, masterclasses, and concerts, you’re free to explore what sparks your curiosity and shape a festival experience that’s uniquely yours.
This four-day event culminates in a powerful finale, uniting flutists with Native American dancers, singers, and drummers (Medicine Horse Singers) in a community-wide celebration of sound, spirit, and tradition. Open to all—professionals, students, and enthusiasts alike—the festival offers a rare, transformative experience of cultural exchange.
