Cal Stroud is an Irish flute player and singer hailing from Morgantown, WV. Growing up in a singing and fiddling family, he has had traditional tunes and songs in his ears and heart since he was a child, and has played Irish music more seriously for over a decade. Cal has studied Irish flute under NY flute player and Uillean piper Ivan Goff, holds a degree in vocal performance from West Virginia Wesleyan College and subsequently studied voice and choral conducting with Dr. Letícia Grützmann. Cal is a member of the Mud Larks, a West Virginia-based traditional music ensemble rooted in Irish music, and helps lead the biweekly Morgantown Irish sessions.
