Joanne Lazzaro

Joanne Lazzaro is a versatile world-flutist performer, teacher, recording artist and producer based in Los Angeles, California.

As a classically-trained orchestral flutist, Ms. Lazzaro has played all over the USA including Los Angeles (Disney Hall), New York (Carnegie Hall & Lincoln Center), Chicago (Symphony Center) and around the world. In 2018 she founded her own record label- JoRazzal Music - which has released four award-winning albums including two world-premiere recordings of classical-crossover flute chamber music: Canyon Shadows for C-flute, native flute & percussion by Katherine Hoover, and Suite Esmerelda for flute and piano by Eric V. Baum, plus a hi-fidelity digital world premiere recording of David W. Solomons’s A Dark Goddess for Flute and Strings, with the St. Petersburg Orchestra (Russia). Her most recent projects - “The Portland Sessions” - features two singles (No More Words, and Ashes to Ireland) recorded in Dolby-Atmos surround sound (available on select platforms). Her upcoming album Hale I’iwi - Songs from the Rainforest features solo flute improvisations recorded live on location on the Big Island of Hawai’i (to be released summer of 2025). 

Ms. Lazzaro is Principal Flute of the Beach Cities Symphony; founding member of the Los Angeles Flute Orchestra, founder & host of the Los Angeles World Flute Circle, member of the National Flute Association (where she serves on the World Flutes Committee, the World Flute Society; The Recording Academy; and ASCAP (Los Angeles). A sought-after workshop clinician, she also maintains a private teaching studio for students interested in classical flute, Native American flutes, recorder, shakuhachi, pan-flute and many other world flutes.
