Arianna Bendit
Arianna Bendit is a Long Island–based flautist currently pursuing her DMA at Stony Brook University with Grammy-nominated flautist Carol Wincenc. She earned her Bachelor’s in Performance at West Virginia University studying under Nina Assimakopoulos and her Master’s at The Ohio State University. Her performance career includes appearances in Vienna and France.
Arianna Bendit is a professional flautist currently based in Long Island, New York. Her teachers included Phyllis Hester, and her husband, Randall Hester who served as principal flute for the Columbus symphony for forty years. From there, she went on to receive her Bachelor’s in Music Performance at West Virginia University studying under Nina Assimakopoulos, winning various prizes from a variety of chamber and solo competitions, included first place for The Great Composer’s Competition, Music of America in 2016. After graduating in 2020, she returned home to study with Katherine Borst Jones at The Ohio State University, known for her many works as part of various prominent musical organizations in Columbus and Nationally, such as Chamber Music Columbus and the National Flute Association. Graduating from TOSU in 2022, Arianna continued her work there for another year. She studied abroad in Vienna in the summer of 2022 and performed at the Mozarthaus, before going to France to meet and study the works of Yuko Uebayashi under the composer herself. In 2023, she enrolled at Stony Brook University, studying with Grammy Nominated Flautist, and Julliard professor Carol Wincenc, where she is pursuing her doctoral degree in Musical performance.
