Greta Hulterstrum

Assistant Director of Historic and Folk Flutes

Greta Hulterstrum is a senior flute performance major at WVU from Minnesota. She performs with WVU ensembles and has played in the Chicago Summer Opera Orchestra. A prizewinner in multiple competitions, Greta has performed in masterclasses with top flutists and teaches at Nels Bells Music Studio.

Greta Hulterstrum is a senior flute performance major from Minnesota studying at West Virginia University. She actively performs with the WVU Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony, and previously participated in the Chicago Summer Opera Orchestra and Minnesota Youth Symphonies. Some of Greta’s accomplishments include winning 2nd prize in the COFA Collegiate Competition, 3rd prize in the FSGP Collegiate Competition, and performing in masterclasses with Jasmine Choi, Alexa Still, and Carol Wincenc. Greta enjoys teaching flute students at Nels Bells Music Studio and hopes to continue sharing her knowledge and love for music with others! 

The International Festival of Flutes: People | Place | Culture, hosted by West Virginia University, takes place on lands that include the ancestral territories of the Shawnee, Lenape (Delaware), Haudenosaunee (Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk, Tuscarora), Cherokee, and many other Indigenous peoples.
