Welcome to the International Festival of Flutes
People | Place | Culture

Nestled in the heart of West Virginia and surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Appalachian region along the Monongahela River, the International Festival of Flutes celebrates the transformative power of music, culture, and community. This five-day festival unites flutists, musicians, artisans, and flute enthusiasts to explore the richness of diverse musical traditions. Through workshops, presentations, and daily gala concerts, we celebrate musical diversity, cross-cultural collaboration, and community building.

Our festival showcases a stunning array of flute traditions, from Western classical performance to the historic and folk traditions of Native American, Appalachian, Celtic, American fife and drum, and the vibrant sounds of rare Asian, African, and Eastern European flutes. It provides an international platform, both in-person and online, for globally underrepresented flute instruments to be showcased and celebrated on a world stage.

A Festival of Uniting Flutes and Cultures

Whether you're a world-class performer, a student, or an amateur passionate about music, the International Festival of Flutes connects you with a global community of musicians and artisans. The festival fosters cross-cultural dialogue, building bridges between diverse flute-playing and instrument-making traditions. With a deep commitment to accessibility, we offer scholarships and ensure the festival is inclusive and enriching for all. Beyond performances, the festival creates a vibrant, supportive community where flutists come together to learn, share, and inspire.
